Anushka in Selvaraghavan’s film

Anushka has reportedly signed a new film. This film will be directed by Selvaraghavan who had made Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, Yugaaniki Okkadu. Apparently, Selvaraghavan wanted to sign Anushka for a film after Arundhati; however both of them were busy with their own projects. Now, a section of media has reported that Anushka has indeed signed the director’s film which would also feature Arya (Varudu, Vaadu Veedu fame). So far, it’s been only a speculation about this project as neither Anushka nor Selvaraghavan confirmed it yet.

Meanwhile, Anushka hasn’t given her dates yet to Chaitanya Dantuluri’s Rampachodavaram. Buzz is that Anushka has already listened to the script and she liked it too; however, there are still some issues left to be sorted out including her dates. Let’s see what she decides in the next few days.

Vivek Oberoi, the bridegroom-to-be is certainly going to break a thousand hearts, as he ties the nuptial knots with his fiancée Priyanka Alva, in Bangalore, today, at a popular hotel.

Vivek Oberoi, who is certainly one of the biggest stars down south, what with his Prince doing excellently there and his Rakta Charitra receiving such an over whelming response at the box office.

However, the wedding of this handsome hunk, Vivek Oberoi, has been in the news for quite some time now, and as news about his going green and environmental concerns making him opt for the eco-friendly wedding card, has created quite an interest in the kind of high-end wedding, he is going to have.

Vivek Oberoi,who is completely satisfied and happy with Priyanka, as he had stated sometime back that he had fallen for his bride-to-be in just 20 minutes flat will certainly make a million hearts crack, as he no longer will remain single in his marital status after the 29th of October 2010!

As news about his wedding is spreading thick and fast, there are reports that the Chief Minister, BS.Yeddyurappa will be present as a special guest and amongst a whole load of celebrities, his two special B-town friends, Sushmita Sen and Dia Mirza are to be present at the venue in Bangalore.

The wedding reception is to be held in Mumbai, and reports are that, who’s who of Bollywood is to be present at the venue on Saturday!

Well, as for the wedding, great plans are ahead, and the wedding dress of the bride and the groom have been designed by none other than Tarun Tahiliani.Amongst others, even the producer of his hit flick Prince, Kumar Taurani,along with Sachin Gupta,the music composer for the flick are to grace the special occasion.

Well, the high end wedding is sure to be an event to watch out for, but for the gals who will feel just the opposite; it will be one more bachelor, less for them to look out for!

Here's what went down at Vivek Oberoi's mehndi ceremony and sangeet yesterday

WHAT: Vivek Oberoi's mehndi ceremony was held yesterday.

WHERE: At his fiancee, Priyanka Alva's palatial bungalow in Bangalore.

HIGHLIGHT: The couple wrote their names on each other's palms. Vivek had mehndi specialist Usha Shah, a fixture at all his family functions (including his sister's wedding earlier this year) specially flown in from Mumbai. The couple danced to various B-Town songs.

HAATHON MEIN KYA: Says Usha, "Priyanka was very confident about what she wanted. She is very traditional and had already thought up a design with peacocks and leaves. It's a pattern that adorns her hands and feet. It took over four hours to apply. Both families (VO's and PA's) got their mehndi done by me. While Priyanka has Vivek's name on her right hand, I have designed her name on his left palm."

The couple's outfits for the sangeet have been designed by Shantanu-Nikhil. The duo lets us in on their creations

WHAT SHE WORE: Says Nikhil, "For Priyanka, we designed a light salmon-orange lehnga with very light delicate prints on gold. There is a jacket made out of organza with similar gold block print.

Both the lehnga and jacket are in very sheer organza and a choli designed in the Rajasthani style. There is no dupatta. Priyanka wanted to wear a jacket. The idea was to have a light, floaty, not-too-blingy outfit. The only bling used are Swarovski crystals on a motif at the bottom of her lehnga strewn very delicately.

The salmon orange colour goes with her skin tone and she looks gorgeous. There are beautiful can-cans at the bottom of the lehnga which create fullness."

Priyanka wore antique jewellery that's been in her family and has been handed down through generations. It's an uncut diamond navratna set with meenakari work and is set in antique gold.

WHAT HE WORE: Vivek wore a magenta, orange and red colored double-organza kurta and copper churidar with kantha work on it. Shantanu says, "The kantha work was specially ordered and done in Sanganer village in Rajasthan with natural yarns, silks and dyes in vegetable colours."

Nikhil and Shantanu have also designed for Priyanka's brother Aditya and Vivek's sister's husband. While Aditya chose from four short kurtas, VO's brother-in-law wore a black and red sherwani made of four different fabrics and five different textures and treatment."

Buzz is, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor attended the sangeet. The only other industry person present was Apoorva Lakhia. Incidentally, all of B-Town has been invited to the grand reception in Mumbai on Sunday.

Trisha can't get enough of Mumbai's night life

Trisha Krishnan, one of the leading ladies down south can't seem to get enough of the city ever since she started shooting for her Bollywood debut –Priyadarshan's 'Khatta Meetha'.

Says Trisha, “Mumbai truly never sleeps. It feels so safe to just take a stroll even in the middle of the night. I especially love binging on the street food here “

Trisha who stars alongside Akshay Kumar in Khatta Meetha has been singing the praises of the city right from the street food and the night life, to the people and their lifestyle.

“I personally love the city and can't get enough of it. I vow to visit it whenever time permits” adds Trisha.

After watching Avatar Hrithik sees no future for Krissh

After partying the whole night to bring in his birthday on Saturday night, Hrithik took a much-needed break from the shooting of Guzaarish on Sunday to spend his birthday with his wife and sons.

This was the actor’s first demand for a holiday from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film. The director gladly complied and shot solo scenes with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

For the party on Saturday night Hrithik and his wife Sussanne personally called every one of the guests.

Hrithik intends to take a long break after Guzaarish to recover his energies. While he has two other projects this year, there seems to be no sign of the next Krissh film with his father Rakesh Roshan.

Has anyone noticed? Hrithik Roshan hasn’t made a movie with his father Rakesh Roshan since 2004 when they did Krissh.

And now it seems unlikely that the most successful father-son filmmaking duo of Bollywood would come together in 2010 as planned earlier.

Says a source, “After he finishes Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish Hrithik has already allotted dates to two other films Zoya Akhtar’s road film with Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, and Vishal Bharadwaj’s next which begins in the second-half of 2010”.

Where does that leave Rakesh Roshan’s plans of making the third part of Krissh?

Says a source, “Hrithik is not sure about the feasibility of the Krissh series any more. Not after James Cameron’s Avatar. He wants the project to go through a budgetary scrutiny to see whether they can create effects comparable with Hollywood’s Avatar and 2012. Otherwise what is the point?”

Rakesh Roshan doesn’t deny the fact that Avatar has indeed braked all his plans to make Krissh 3. “I saw the film in Los Angeles. And it certainly made me sit up and me re-think about Krissh. But I don’t think it is impossible to create effects on a par with Hollywood. We need to budget Krissh 3 intelligently.”

As far as starting Krissh 3 goes Rakesh Roshan admits there’s no immediate chance of it taking off.

“I am not even thinking of directing my own film until our production Kites is released on May 14. Only then will I seriously start planning my directorial project. For now the next film I direct is Krissh 3. But it may change if I’m unhappy with the script.”

What the patriarch of the Roshan empire leaves unsaid is that the father and son Roshan have sat together and discussed the feasibility of doing a lavish big budget film in the light of Avatar and other Hollywood extravaganzas dubbed in Hindi.

Hrithik has made it clear to his dad that there’s no point in doing a Hollywood-styled special -effects film unless there’s scope and space for the desi counterpart to make an impact at the boxoffice.

It looks like James Cameron’s Avatar has affected our film industry in unexpected ways.

Check out Rajnikanth, Ash in Endhiran

Endhiran is one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2010. It is also the most expensive film ever made in Tamil.
The film stars Tamil superstar Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and is directed by the director with the Midas touch, Shankar.
The film is being produced by Sun Pictures.




A R Rahman has composed the music for the film, and has already recorded five songs in a Mumbai studio. Rathnavelu is the cinematographer.
Prabhu Deva, who rarely choreographs these days, has made an exception for Endhiran. He is choreographing some great dance movies for Rajnikanth in three songs. One of the songs has Rajni show off a hundred different styles.
The other two songs are choreographed by Raghavendra Lawrence and Prabhu Deva's brother Raju Sundaram.


One of the songs was shot in Peru while the title song was shot in Ramoji Rao film city in Hyderabad.
Like in Shankar's previous films, the picturisation of the songs will be a major highlight of Endhiran.
The lyrics of one song are penned by Kaviyarasu Vairamuththu and starts like this: Robovuku thaai mozhi kidaiyadhu, thandhai mozhidhan undu (Robo does not have a mother tongue, it has only father's tongue).
It seems the lyrics are much appreciated by the superstar, who celebrated his 60th birthday on December 12, in Pune, while shooting for the film.


Art director Sabu Cyril has created special expensive sets for the film.


Rajnikanth's name in the film is Vaseegaran while Aishwarya's is Sharmilee. Danny Denzongpa plays the villain. There are rumours that Amitabh Bachchan and Kannada actor-director Arjun Sarja are also part of this film.

Latest update on the movie Kuselan is that Superstar Rajinikanth the hero of the movie has completed his dubbing work for the film in just 3 days. Directed by P Vasu, the movie features Nayantara, Pasupathy and Vadivelu in supporting roles.

The Katha Parayumbol remake will be released in mid July or in the first week of August and the audio will be released on June 25. The shooting was completed recently and the post-production work has commenced at Prasad Labs in Chennai.

After completing the dubbing, Rajinikanth praised director P Vasu for his extra ordinary efforts to give a new look to the film. During the dubbing session, Rajini watched the portions of Pasupathy also and praised his performance

Dasavatharam has been kept delayed by Oscar Ravichandran.

Due to unknown reasons, the release date of Dasavatharam has been kept delayed by Oscar Ravichandran. And now with the final date June 6 being kept as release date, here comes the breaking news that the computer generated works for the film are not yet over. The film unit has been waiting for the final product from designers in Hong Kong and soon would be sent.  If this is something to do with bad part of Dasavatharam, there goes a happy news for them. American President George Bush has requested Oscar Ravichandran to send him a DVD Copy of Dasavatharam to him. It is for the reason that Kamal Haasan has played his role and to check out how far better he has done.
