James Bond`s India journey scrappedJames Bond is no longer coming to India. Despite a green signal from the Indian railways ministry, plans to shoot a few action sequences for the British super spy film have been shelved.

"The production company, India Take One Productions, have communicated to the railway ministry that they are not shooting the next Bond film in India, and that they are looking at other places," sources from the railway ministry confirmed to.

"The production company has thanked the railway ministry for their co-operation in the past few months," added the sources.

The producers of the movie, tentatively titled "Bond 23", wanted to shoot high-speed stunts on the Indian Railways.

There was a request to shoot on the rooftop of a moving train, as well as inside a tunnel. However, they were having trouble getting permission due to safety and security issues.

Though the ministry gave the go-ahead to the film's January-March 2012 shooting schedule, officials were worried about the production team's demand of "locking off the lines for seven-eight hours a day for seven days in a row".

The crew of "Bond 23", starring Daniel Craig, had also short-listed Goa's Dudh Sagar waterfalls as one of the locations.

Now, the shooting is likely to move to South Africa, according to media reports.

`Pay me or f**k off!`Alisha tells Vishal-Shekhar to f**k off! The composers hit back, say she's delusional and needs help

Composers Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani got a mouthful from singer Alisha Chinai when they offered her a sizzling number with the habitual bait, "Only you can do justice to it.

When she heard the price being offered for the song, Alisha apparently told Vishal to f**k off!

Of course, the composing whiz kids did exactly that. They recorded the song with Sunidhi Chauhan.

'Deserving' question

Alisha doesn't deny the incident. "Yes, Vishal-Shekhar did offer me a number very recently.

I asked them what they're paying. When I heard the sum, I almost laughed out loud.

Really, how long are we playback singers going to be treated so shabbily?

I've had just about enough. I've no songs on hand at the moment, but I'd rather be without work than without my self-respect.

So yeah, I told Vishal-Shekhar very clearly that I'm not interested in their song or the fame.

I told them to tell their producers to pay me what I deserve or f**k off."

Wanting more

In spite of smash-hit numbers like Kajra re, Tinka tinka, It's rocking and Tera hone lagaa hai, the singer has all but said goodbye to playback singing.

"I won't sell myself out for a pittance.

If you can't pay me what I deserve, then f**k you. I guess I will become a producer and then exploit the hell out of everyone."

When asked about the incident, Vishal said, "I feel really bad saying this, but the poor lady is delusional and needs help. I mean this with all sincerity. God bless her."

Anushka in Selvaraghavan’s film

Anushka has reportedly signed a new film. This film will be directed by Selvaraghavan who had made Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, Yugaaniki Okkadu. Apparently, Selvaraghavan wanted to sign Anushka for a film after Arundhati; however both of them were busy with their own projects. Now, a section of media has reported that Anushka has indeed signed the director’s film which would also feature Arya (Varudu, Vaadu Veedu fame). So far, it’s been only a speculation about this project as neither Anushka nor Selvaraghavan confirmed it yet.

Meanwhile, Anushka hasn’t given her dates yet to Chaitanya Dantuluri’s Rampachodavaram. Buzz is that Anushka has already listened to the script and she liked it too; however, there are still some issues left to be sorted out including her dates. Let’s see what she decides in the next few days.

Indian women are very beautiful and they will surely make wonderful Bond girls: Daniel Craig

Indian women are very beautiful and they will surely make wonderful Bond girls: Daniel CraigDaniel Craig on why he would like to do an Indian film, his secret marriage, upcoming cowboy film and of course James Bond

Come Friday, and Daniel Craig a.k.a James Bond will be seen in yet a new avatar. This time, as a cowboy fighting aliens in Jon Favreau's science fiction movie Cowboys And Aliens. In a candid chat with Hitlist, he talks about his professional and personal escapades...

Tell us something about Cowboys And Aliens? And about playing a cowboy fighting with aliens?
I play a stranger who stumbles into the hard-bitten town of Absolution. He wakes up in the middle of the desert with no memory and a fancy metallic bracelet on! It's brilliant what the writers did because the part was always very sort of enigmatic.

Any dialogue we felt we didn't need, we just cut out. Because it's all about a character that doesn't have to explain what he's doing, he just does it.

How was your experience working With Harrison Ford?
This is the first time I worked with Ford. I feel very lucky indeed...he's a really nice, generous, funny man. And, he is an actor who just wants to get it right

What prompted you to do this movie?
I've always wanted to play a cowboy. It's as simple as that. And I kind of got it. I saw the title Cowboys and Aliens and I thought, 'Okay, it's going to be something funny'. And actually the script read straight. It's funny, but it isn't gags every minute and all that, it is a straight cowboy movie and then suddenly the aliens turn up.

I found the concept very interesting, so I spoke to my agent and said, ''I'd love to see this film because it will be a lot of fun' And he said 'Well, they want you in it...' And we went from there.

What about your upcoming films? Also, when do we see you back as Bond?
My next is David Fincher's screen version of Stieg Larsson's international best selling novel, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I will back as Bond soon with Bond 23.

You just got married to Rachel Weisz! It was so impromptu... what do you have to say?
Well yeah it was...we were in love and we got married.

What's your take on India as a market for Hollywood productions?
I think it's a huge market. My last two Bond movies did a good business in India.

What about doing Indian films? Has anything come your way?
Nothing has come my way yet, but if things work out then why not?

Some scenes from the next Bond are to be shot in India...
Yes, that's true and I am absolutely thrilled about it.

If ever a Bond girl were to be selected from Bollywood, would you any preference?
I don't know any Bollywood actress personally, but Indian women are very beautiful and they will surely make wonderful Bond girls.

I have never kissed onscreen: Kajal Agarwal

I have never kissed onscreen: Kajal AgarwalTollywood star, Kajal Agarwal, who stars opposite Ajay Devgn in 'Singham', says this is where she belongs unlike other South actresses

Telugu cinema's leading actress, Kajal Agarwal is set to re-enter Bollywood with her debut opposite Ajay Devgn in Rohit Shetty's Singham.

The Punju girl made her first appearance here with Kyun Hogaya Na in 2004 but then ventured south to give some of the biggest hits like Magdheera and Chandamama. In a tete-a-tete with the pretty starlet

How do you feel about making a debut opposite Ajay Devgan?
Ajay Devgan is one of the best actors this country can boast of. So I am glad to be debuting with him.

What made you venture into Bollywood?
It happened by chance. I was doing a couple of films down South. It was bound to happen at some point in my life considering that I was born and brought up in Mumbai. I've lived here all my life.

It was a very natural progression towards Bollywood. I am very happy doing my films in South.

How did you land with role in Singham?
Rohit offered me the role after seeing my south film Magadheera. He was looking for a simple and innocent girl for the role and felt I fitted the bill perfectly.

A lot of actresses from South make dream debuts and then disappear into oblivion. Are you here to stay?
I am a Mumbai girl who went down South, made it big and is now back to the place where she belongs.

I have not seen myself as a South Indian actress. I am a Punjabi girl.

Compared to South, Bollywood is way bolder and glamorous. How do you plan to keep up to it?
I have my limitations. I have never kissed onscreen. I had cheated a kiss once in a South film.

Karan Johar reveals: Why Hrithik is the best dancer?

Karan Johar reveals: Why Hrithik is the best dancer?Hrithik Roshan stresses on the importance of dance rehearsals

What makes Hrithik Roshan the best dancing star that B-Town can boast of? Rehearsals. Painfully obvious but so true!

Reveals a source, "Duggu lives, eats, breathes and dreams (literally) of dance just a week before shootings begin! No matter how hectic his schedule or work commitments, he rehearses his steps with the concerned choreographer days in advance.

He begins work on the Agneepath song this week and has been quietly rehearsing (despite shooting for the film all day and working out for an hour and half in the day and night) for the song for one week."

The source adds, "Next he will have to shoot three music videos for the dance reality show Just Dance he's judging. For each song, rehearsals begin a week earlier."

Agneepath producer Karan says Johar that Hrithik is "a relentless rehearsal man, " adding, "exhausting hours result in effortless moves - that's Hrithik for you. He raises the bar of excellence and validates the input equals output theory!"

Says Hrithik, "Along with rehearsals, I actually learn dancing in my sleep. If I can clearly see every moment of the move in my head then my body is able to express it... The downside is that if I can't see it - I can't do it

Case in point

KJo, who directed Duggu in Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham, recounts a previous experience: "We had two hours to shoot at the British Museum.

Hrithik was given an elaborate dance piece that could have thrown anyone off, even internationally, but he worked through the night and came straight to shoot. It took just one take and we were done and out of there!"

Deepika is not beautiful enough for Rajnikanth

Deepika is not beautiful enough for RajnikanthUnhappy with her look for Rana, Rajnikanth asks for a 'more beautiful' Deepika Padukone

It's Rajnikanth's way or the highway. We just couldn't resist the cheesiness of that statement but it's true.

The Boss has delayed the shoot of Rana, his film with Deepika, by a week.

Unhappy with her look test, Rajni has asked the makers to take some more time to work out a better look. The film will therefore be behind schedule by a week.

A source reveals, "The first schedule was to begin in Chennai.

However, Rajni told director K S Ravikumar that he felt Dippy needed to look simple, yet traditionally beautiful, and that wasn't coming across."

It's different

The source adds, "It's a very different film that spans three different time periods.

Rajni plays a multi-generational triple role and Deepika is paired opposite him in his youth.

Rajni has now asked the make-up team to go back to the drawing board and devise a new look, sending the entire schedule into a tizzy."

Only after Rajnikanth okays Deepika's look, will the shoot commence.

'Dum Maro Dum is an obscene depiction of Goa women'

`Dum Maro Dum is an obscene depiction of Goa women`Trouble for Rohan Sippy’s upcoming film ‘Dum Maro Dum’ is deepening with the Goa State Women’s Commission (GSWC) has joined the bandwagon demanding ban on the movie for projecting Goan women in ‘obscene’ manner.

The commission on Friday filed a complaint with the women’s police station demanding action against the filmmakers even as it will conduct a parallel inquiry.

GSWC chairperson Ezilda Sapeco said that the commission is relying on the promos shown on television, which are ‘defamatory and has obscene depiction of Goa and Goa women’.

“The commission has taken serious note of the same and there is already a public outcry, which might provoke breach of peace.

We therefore request the police to investigate in the matter and take action against all persons responsible in the matter of the preparation, filming, display and the relay of the promos,” Sapeco said.

GSWC officials also convened a meeting with Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Home Minister Ravi Naik, requesting to intervene in the matter.

The movie is already embroiled in controversy as the state has got together protesting against the movie which showcases Goa as a hub of sex, drugs, prostitution and easy availability of women.

A media professional, Savio Rodrigues filed a petition in the High Court seeking a permanent ban on the movie stating the wrong portrayal might attract sex offenders, drug dealers and criminals to Goa.

“The government is aware of the movie and we have already instructed the police to investigate it,” Kamat assured the commission officials.

The issue was recently raised by the former Tourism Minister Francisco Pacheco in the state legislative assembly arguing that the movie will further dent the image of the state. Tourism Minister Nilkant Halankar had also voiced concern over the wrong depiction of Goa and assured to deliberate at the higher level.

How Salman came to the rescue of Bandra's fire victims

How Salman came to the rescue of Bandra`s fire victimsHelped out people affected by recent Bandra blaze on hearing about it

Though he wasn't in Mumbai at the time, Salman Khan swung into action as soon as he heard about the destruction caused by the Bandra blaze.

Through his Being Human foundation, he arranged for the distribution of food packets and clothing to around 1, 500 people who lost their homes.

Says a source, "Salman wasted no time in rushing relief. He was extremely concerned about what had happened. As soon as he realised the magnitude of the loss, he told his volunteers to get going."

Adds the source, "He was not keen to publicise that the aid was from Salman Khan. Several of the blaze hit, however, only later realised that it was from the star! They couldn't help thanking him then."

Adds the source, "Bhai does not want to talk about it. But those close to him know how he coordinated the relief measures within hours of the tragedy. He was even more concerned as it happened in Bandra a place where he resides."

The star, who's has been shooting in Thailand for Ready, had flown into Vizag over the weekend for the Celebrity Cricket League curtain raiser event.

After which he was back in Bangkok. But he kept in touch with the volunteers about the relief measures.

Casting is on in full swing for the Satte Pe Satta remake being directed by Soham Shah. The flick, toplining Sanjay Dutt is a co-production between the actor and Shree Ashtavinayak.

While it is known that Vidya Balan will play Hema Malini's character, the latest from the sets is that Bipasha Basu has been roped in to play the crippled Seema, originally played by Ranjeeta.

Bips most likely will adhere to character demands, wheelchair et al.

Reunion

Also, Arshad Warsi will have an on-screen reunion with Sanjay Dutt with SPS. He plays one of Dutt's siblings in the film.

Their last last pairing as Circuit and Munnabhai respectively was a much-loved one. The two haven't been seen together bade parde pe, since.

While we reported that Warsi dropped out of Kabir Kaushik's Maximum at the last minute ('Dropout Warsi'; Feb 9) due to script disagreement, it is now learnt that he was also offered Satte Pe Satta and the dates were clashing with Maximum.

A friend confirms this but speaks up in the actor's defence, "He was doing Maximum only because of his friendship with Kabir.

On realising his role had no meat and was nothing like what was narrated to him, he decided to walk out. It is Sonu's film and Arshad was reduced to a guest appearance."

One's loss is another's gain, then!

The Other Side
Dharam Oberoi, Dutt's business manager and the producer of the SPS remake denied the developments.

Sameera's next-door... Family

Sameera`s next-door... FamilySameera Reddy finds herself a home right next to her parents' building

After living with her parents for years, Sameera Reddy has finally bought herself a 3 BHK flat on the fifth floor of Casa De Rosa in Bandra, right next to the building where her parents stay!

The actress confirms, "I had this dream of having my own place and had been searching for the last couple of years.

I went everywhere from Bandra to Worli and Juhu and Versova but couldn't find the place that met my demands."

Sleepwalker

About staying next to her parents, she says, "My dad wanted it to be close to mom and him as I sleepwalk and that can be dangerous sometimes.

When I found the flat in Casa De Rosa he was most relieved." Sameera says she loves Bandra as she has grown up there.

"It's close to the sea and has many churches. It's a quiet locality with lots of greenery around. I was tired of looking at places but one day I walked in this flat and I knew it was home.

It's a new building and has a balcony with each room. Everything fell into place just before my birthday."

Though she plans to design a major part of the flat herself, she is looking around for an interior designer to help her plan her new home, "I have just started out and I am already confused.

Dad wants a designer as I am always travelling. I want lots of greenery, space and light. The design should be simple not cluttered. I am a little nervous learning and understanding so much about designing homes.

But it will be fun to come back to my own home. I have been collecting little artifacts from my trips around the world like Spanish tiles and a bust from Rome. I can't wait to start doing it up, " she concludes.

Aamir doesn't take bath regularly: Kiran

Aamir doesn`t take bath regularly: KiranStrange as it may sound, but Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's wife Kiran Rao says the one thing she dislikes about her husband is that he doesn't bathe regularly.

"The one thing that I don't like about him is the fact that he doesn't take a bath. And trust me when I say this that his bathing habits are not very regular," Kiran told Live India in an interview.

To this, the actor jumped in for his own rescue and said: "I do take a bath when I go out for work. And considering most of the time I step out for work, I take a bath most of the time. It is only when I am not stepping out or when I am on a holiday that I don't take a bath."

Kiran is all set for the release of her directorial debut "Dhobi Ghat", which is coming on Jan 21, and stars her husband in a pivotal role.

Shah Rukh Khan in trouble over his villa in Dubai

Shah Rukh Khan in trouble over his villa in DubaiBollywood superstar Shah Rukh has come under the wrath of Income Tax department. King Khan had been gifted a villa in Dubai by the Nakheel Public Joint Stock Company (PJSC). However, this gift has become a problem for the star as I.T department is not ready to consider it as a gift.

According to the I.T department, SRK received this villa in return of lending his name for promoting the company. So, it cannot be considered as a gift and will be taxable. In 2008-09, when SRK paid 126.31 crore as his income tax return, this property was shown as a gift.

The I.T department issued a notice against King Khan saying that he will have to pay tax for this Signature Villa at the Palm Jumeirah, which is worth Rs 17.84 crore. PJSC gifted the villa on September 16, 2007.

However, after scrutinising the returns of SRK, the I.T department has strongly said that it will be taxable and the actor will have to pay penalty for hiding the accurate income.

But Shah Rukh is still maintaining that the Signature Villa does not come under his income, according to the provisions of Section 28 (IV). He said that the income was from his profession, house, property and capital gains.

On November 26, 2010, SRK was issued a notice in this regard from the I.T department. Nakheel also submitted a letter on October 2010, saying that it was not given for any professional services.

Now, it will be interesting to see if SRK can come out of this trouble!

Secretly in love: Yes, that's me shouting, Marry me Rani

Secretly in love: Yes, that`s me shouting, Marry me RaniThe film crew insists that director Rajkumar Gupta is smitten by Rani Mukerji

Is No One Killed Jessica director Rajkumar Gupta secretly in love with Rani Mukerji? According to members of the film crew Gupta couldn't take his eyes off her whenever she was on the sets.

Divulges a source, "It was quite obvious for everyone that Raj was quite smitten by her. He found every excuse to be close to her and even insisted on playing a cameo in the film where he gets to propose to Rani's character."

The situation in the script demanded one of Rani's character's colleagues in the office to shout a marriage proposal to Rani.

Apparently, some other actor was supposed to do that role. Raj insisted on playing that role just for the pleasure of proposing to Rani.

When asked about the special bonding with his leading lady, Gupta laughs, "Yes that's me shouting, 'Marry me' to Rani in one sequence.

Someone else was supposed to do the cameo. But no one had the guts to say those two words to Rani. So I took up the challenge."

Choice made

One doesn't know how far Gupta's ardent feelings for Rani go. But one hears he has already decided to cast her in his next film Rapchik Romance, an out-and-out romantic musical with lots of songs, fun and masti.

Says Gupta, "It's too early to talk about whom I'd cast in Rapchik Romance. I'm still writing it.

But yes, it's a film I am very excited about. After Aamir and No One Killed Jessica I don't want to be typecast as the director who

only makes hard-hitting social dramas. I want to surprise everyone, including me." As for casting Rani again, "Why not?" comes the defiant retort.

Sheila Ki Manmaani

Sheila Ki ManmaaniKatrina Kaif wanted original choreographer Geeta Kapoor to direct her in two award show performances. Had to settle for only one, Ganesh Hegde will guide her steps in the other

Katrina Kaif will be performing at two award functions this time. She will groove to the beat of Sheila Ki Jawaani. For one award function she has the original choreographer of the song Geeta Kapoor.

And for the other performance, she will dance to the tunes of Ganesh Hegde, even though her heart was set on Geeta.

Kat is very comfortable with Geeta and feels has given her steps that helped in making the song a rage.

Also Kapoor patiently worked with the actress for many days till she got all the moves down pat.

And she wants to recreate the experience, whenever possible.

She tried

It is learnt that when Katrina learnt that Ganesh choreographing Sheila, she asked the organisers (the Moranis) to go with Kapoor as she was familiar with the steps.

"But the Moranis insisted on Ganesh and Katrina finally had to accept the decision. She has been shooting and rehearsing without a break.

Tees Maar Khan director Farah Khan says, "I'm happy that Geeta is choreographing Kat for the award. She was my associate choreographer on TMK and actually the one who rehearsed with her throughout the shoot.

I guess for the other awards they wanted a different choreographer because song is the same. I'm happy Kat is making lots of money with Sheila because I had promised her that."

She adds that she is excited about seeing the performances, "Umpteen songs of mine have been performed on shows for so many years.

It's good to see how others do it differently. And yes I am expecting my commission from Katrina on this too. She better not get amnesia!"

Saif-Bebo fly 20 hours from Swiss for Pataudi`s b`dayKareena Kapoor and beau take a break from their Swiss hols for one day to return to Pataudi to celebrate Saif's dad's 70th b'day

Kareena Kapoor and beau Saif Ali Khan who are holidaying in Gstaad in Switzerland, returned to Mumbai for a day (more than 20 hours in travelling time) to celebrate his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi's 70th birthday (Jan 5).

Annual ritual

Says a source close to the couple, "This is part of their annual ritual. But this year, their vacation was split. They flew in from Zurich for Pataudi Sr's birthday and then flew back the following day.

Since both are busy with their respective shootings, there was no other way or else, this break would not have been possible."

The couple flew out on December 31 and are booked at the Palace Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland till January 14.

They didn't even check out of the hotel and left most of their belongings there and travelled only with their bare essentials.

Saif, sisters Soha and Sabah and mother Sharmila had planned a special evening for Pataudi in their ancestral home.

Says an insider, "Bebo is very fond of her would-be parents-in-law and was part of the planning for the birthday celebrations right from the beginning."

Special presentation

Sharmila had put together an audiovisual presentation on her husband that was screened at the bash.

The video included memorable moments of her husband's great milestones in cricket and recorded bytes from close friends and family talking about their interactions with Tiger (Pataudi's nick).

Saif and Bebo ordered a special three-tiered birthday cake and gifted emerald and diamond earrings to Sharmila. The pair flew back on Thursday early morning.

Private occasion

Sharmila says, "We had a small party for him. It was a very special occasion for a very private person (Pataudi) with close friends and family including all our children. The grandchildren couldn't come as they were in Singapore."
