Bollywood Stars Ko Gussa Kyon Aata HaiSocial networking sites is a great way to connect with fans, but celebs might need to brush up on their manners if they still want to remain popular

Once upon a time (a period we will look back at with fondness and amusement), we didn't have social networking sites to connect us.

Those were the days when celebrities maintained a certain aura and mystery and journalists dug hard to find 'truths' about him/her. Some comfortable truths, some not so comfortable.

Whatever the news was, his or her image remained more or less intact. Till, of course, the invasion of twitter and facebook.

Every celebrity made a beeline to open an account. After all, what better way to connect directly with the fans without having to depend upon a journalist's manner of interpreting 'the truth'.

But looks like these very social networking sites are doing more than yellow journalism could ever hope of achieving. Our stars are fallible and their follies are more than exposed in their emotional rants on these sites.

Shahid Kapoor, who has been an extremely polite interviewee all these years, recently tweeted about 'screwing' all those who didn't like Mausam.

He even made a direct dig at a trade analyst, at perhaps a weak moment. Twitter has exposed Shahid's, Salman's and several other celebs' poor spelling skills, besides their true personalities.

Not just actors

And it's not just the actors. A while back debut director Puneet Malhotra went on a tirade against author Shobhaa De because she had panned his film.

Sonam Kapoor joined his fight. Later, of course, both of them had to apologise.

Would this have happened in the real world, say a party where the three came face to face? Doubtful. It is easier to lash out at someone through a medium where you don't have to look him/her in the eye.

Filmmakers like Sajid Khan and Shirish Kunder get 'block' happy when someone points out a mistake or even makes an unflattering comment about their films.

Music director Vishal Dadlani points out laughing at someone who cannot tweet in proper English.

Why, even the production companies seem to have adopted an unabashed attitude while dealing with people who don't see their viewpoint.

Recently Y films, a branch of Yash Raj Films, called a critic an idiot just because he tweeted about not liking the trailer of their forthcoming film Mujhse Fraandship Karoge?

So the daggers are easily drawn and outbursts are waiting at fingertips to be tweeted. In the meanwhile, the little birdie who relentlessly whispered gossip into a reporter's ear has been gulped alive by a giant whale.

And believe us, it is not a pretty sight. Celebs, today, don't even have the luxury of hiding behind an 'I was misquoted' stance.

Mahie and Randeep`s steamy love scenes leakedThe makers of "Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster" were in a for a shock after learning that some intimate scenes of Randeep Hooda and Mahie Gill have been leaked online -- a week before its release.

"The video was from the shoot.

Someone might have shot the sequence in his or her mobile and decided to play mischief.

The production team thankfully got to know about it and the video has been blocked now," said a source.

The film is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Slated for release Sep 30, the film is set in a small town.

It is about a beautiful woman, her husband and an ambitious gangster. The film also stars Jimmy Shergeill.

Vidya-Emraan liplock - If kissing is a way to remember me, so be it

Vidya-Emraan liplock - If kissing is a way to remember me, so be itPoor Emraan Hashmi! There seems to be no getting away from the "serial kisser" tag despite his many protestations and he's back to locking lips in his forthcoming film "The Dirty Picture".

If people wish to remember him for his on-screen kisses, so be it, says the somewhat exasperated actor who has for long been looking for an image change.

The 32-year-old actor came to be known as Hindi cinema's serial kisser after numerous lip locks in films like "Murder", "Zeher", "Aashiq Banaya Apne", "Gangster" and "Jannat".

"The tag would never go. I tried to get rid of it, but it follows me everywhere. I have done so many films with it (kissing) and so many people went and watched those films.

So probably they want to remember me for that. And if kissing is a great way to remember me, I have no complaints! My audience base is there and I can't change overnight, " Emraan told in an interview.

"I am trying out different things in my forthcoming films. Hopefully it would be another dimension, which would change people's perception about me, " he added.

"The Dirty Picture" is said to have Emraan in yet another kissing scene, this time with actress Vidya Balan. He however stresses that the film, based on the life of the late southern sex icon Vijayalakshmi aka Silk Smitha, takes sexuality to a different level.

"It's a different take on sexuality. Sexuality in my films was shown differently before this. 'The Dirty Picture' takes it to a different level, " said Emraan.

The first trailer of the movie has already created a buzz, with Vidya in a bold new avatar. Emraan plays one of the three men in her life, while the other two male characters have been essayed by Tusshar Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah.

"I play a movie director who believes in artistic cinema. He is one who doesn't really give a damn about commercial viability of a film.

He would rather make a film, which critics will appreciate; he sticks to his guns creatively, never budges from his creative instincts of a film and the content the film. It's a very different character that I haven't played before, " said the actor.

"The Dirty Picture", produced by Ekta Kapoor, and directed by Milan Luthria, will release Dec 2, which happens to be Silk Smitha's birth anniversary.

Even though the movie is being promoted as Silk Smitha's biopic, Emraan says it has been spiked with fiction for commercial value.

"It's basically a fictional film. It might have been taken from different sources and it's about the southern film industry, about the actress, her rise, her stardom and her relationship with these three men...

Eventually, lots of comparisons can be made but lots of things have been added for commercial effect. So I wouldn't say it's truly a biopic, " he said.

This is the first time that Emraan has teamed up with the critically acclaimed Vidya.

"Vidya is a great actress. Our combination is new. It's a great experience working with her. Every character in the film is very intriguing and interesting; so we share a very different kind of chemistry on screen."

He is also in awe of veteran actor Naseeruddin.

"Naseeruddin is god of acting. I did a couple of scenes with him, which was a great learning experience, " said Emraan.

Kajal’s topless picture morphed on FHM

Actor Kajal Agarwal has a good reason to be fuming and fretting the way she is. FHM, a Mumbai-based men’s magazine has morphed her picture as a topless girl to gain some “cheap publicity” by stooping to the lowest practices of yellow journalism.
Kajal who arrived in B-town with the smashing success of Singham, had done a photo shoot for the magazine, but her fabricated topless picture was published on the cover, thereby tarnishing her image. Her sister and actress Nisha Agarwal says that the gimmick has done a lot of damage to the actor’s image, adding that Kajal would never dream of doing such a thing.
She says the family was upset since they were getting innumerous calls from friends, family and well-wishers from the industry, expressing shock over the issue. “We had to explain to them that it was a morphed picture and exposed the unprofessional conduct of the publishing house,” she adds. The actress is infuriated and is planning to take action against the magazine and halt the issue of the magazine from hitting the stands. Industry bigwigs thought that Kajal had turned bold in a desperate attempt to get B-town offers. However, it all turned out to be a scam not involving her at all.

Katrina slaps Imran 16 timesBollywood actor Imran Khan got slapped 16 times -- and that too by his co-star Katrina Kaif!

Before one draws any conclusions, Imran had to go through the torture for a scene in their upcoming film "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan", releasing Sep 9.

The romantic comedy, helmed by debutant director Ali Abbas Zafar, had a scene where Katrina had to slap Imran. But to the actor's misfortune, Katrina took more than 16 takes to get the slap right!

"We did that scene 16 times... 16 takes and finally the packup happened, " Imran told reporters here.

"Next day when I came onto the sets for the next scene, I was told that Katrina is not very happy with the scene that we did yesterday so she wants to shoot it again, only the slapping part. So we did more takes, " he added.

A much-amused Katrina justified herself by saying that she is quite a perfectionist.

"I take a while to get into the mood of the scene. The first time I slapped him, I didn't get the feel right. It's important to be convinced with the scene you are doing. So till the time it wasn't perfect, we did it, " she added.

Yash Raj Films' "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan" is a love triangle that also stars Pakistani actor-musician Ali Zafar.

Imran, who is playing a central character in the film, also revealed that initially he didn't want to be part of the film.

"Aditya Chopra had called me last year and told me that I want you to meet this boy Ali. He is directing his first film and has a lot of talent. Then I met Ali and he told me that I'm making a film called 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'. I didn't say anything but I thought... 'What a horrible title'.

"Then he told me that it's a story of this guy who finds a girl for his brother and then himself falls in love with her. So I thought that it sounds like such a bad story. I didn't tell him all this, but just said that I will call him, " narrated Imran.

It was actually Imran's mother, actor Aamir Khan's sister, who egged him on to take up the project.

"I did not read the script, but my mom found the script and read it. She called me and told me that I should read the script and do this film because it is hilarious. So I read it, I loved it and finally decided to do it. His script just won me over. Initially I was not doing it, but now I'm so glad that I did it, " added Imran.

Salman to train in martial arts in KoreaActor is all set to perform the most difficult action sequences of his career in Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kick'

Taking off his shirt to fight the enemy is not enough anymore.

Salman Khan is all set to perform the most difficult action sequences of his career in Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick, and that too, in locations rarely ever seen in any kind of cinema.

Says Sajid, "We wanted the action in the film to go way beyond what we've seen Salman do in Wanted and Dabangg.

So, we're working towards that." Kick will be shot in Korea, all thanks to Salman who is keen to explore new locations for his films.

"Yes, the Korean Tourist Organisation has opened its doors to Kick. We've selected Seoul, Jeju Island, Busan and Gangwon Do, but I can't reveal why we've chosen these places just yet, " he adds.

However, we've reliably learnt that Salman will be shooting some of the most kick ass sequences of his life in the wild Korean outdoors.

In addition, the Korean government will extend the services of its best martial arts experts and stunt artistes to Salman, who will be learning various forms of martial arts in Korea before shooting for Kick.

Aiming for size zero Sonam takes to Bikram yogaIt seems Sonam Kapoor is aiming for size zero. The already slim actress has now joined Bikram Yoga classes, where she is expected to sweat it out and burn oodles of calories.

"Starting bikram yoga today or as everyone calls it hot yoga. It's my dads secret for looking fab. (sic), " Sonam posted on her Twitter page.

Bikram Yoga is a distinct style developed by yoga guru Bikram Choudhury who holds a US copyright on his yoga that comprises 26 'asanas' or postures and two breathing exercises.

"Can someone find the special k bars in mumbai please! I like the chocolatey drizzle special k bars.. Anyone i know where I can find them in mumbai, " she asked her Twitter followers.

I'm not wearing bikini in Housefull 2: Zarine Khan

I`m not wearing bikini in Housefull 2: Zarine KhanZarine Khan is tired of the constant talk about her uncanny resemblance to fellow actress Katrina Kaif and feels that media should get over it. She also shot down reports of wearing a bikini in the upcoming comedy "Housefull 2".

"Housefull 2" is her second full-fledged film after "Veer" and it is being directed by Sajid Khan.

"The first schedule of 'Housefull 2' is over. It was fun. I'm really looking forward to the next schedule, " Zarine, who was the show stopper for Divya K. Ahuja at the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), told reporters here.

"No, I am not wearing a bikini in the film, " added the actress who walked the ramp in a black victorian dress and elaborate diamond jewellery.

Zarine was launched by Salman Khan, who was dating Katrina, with "Veer" last year. After that she made a special appearance in his "Ready".

"This whole comparison with Katrina is media created and it is high time that people get over it, " she said.

Can comparisons have a negative impact on her career?

"It's not that the comparisons can be negative for my career, but both of us are in Bollywood, so it does bother sometime. Although I respect Katrina completely, " said the 23-year-old.

Katrina’s life in the Bollywood

Katrina has made her way through the Bollywood industry. When she entered she could not speak Hindi at all and did not know anything. But now she is one of the most wanted actresses of the industry. Her debut film was ‘Boom’ which was directed by Kaizad Gustad. However it failed to make an impact in the industry as well as in the minds of the audience. But Katrina never chose to walk out. Instead she determined that she will make her position in the Bollywood industry. After that there was no looking back for the actress.

Katrina Kaif’s parents are of a British-Indian origin. She was originally a model from London from where she actually began her career. At the Fashion Week in London, she did a ramp walk. At this time only she met director Kaizad Gustad who casted her in her debut film ‘Boom’. During this film she was introduced to top actors and models of the Bollywood industry. But she did not give up hope after her film went a dud. She packed her bags and went off to Mumbai. During her modeling days in Mumbai, she bagged a role in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Sarkar’.

Singham movie

Singham

Starrinf Ajay Devgn, Prakash Raj, Kajal Aggarwal

Directed by Rohit Shetty

Rating: ** ½

This cop is a killer. He implements the laws applicable to the khaki-vardi with a passion that makes corruption seem like a mosquito that a human repellant can exterminate. His ways are unconventional. And he seethes and fumes when faced with diabolic corruption.

Last we saw, it was Rajeev Khandelwal playing the anti-establishment cop’s role in the brilliant Shaitaan. This time it’s a huge star getting into khakee. Meet Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham an honest-to-goodness cop who believes he has been given the law-enforcer’s job and he better take it seriously.

Hurling through a cavalcade of regionally-flush references Singham is the kind of rustic boorish kinetic action thriller where a cleaner social order is seen to be brought about by the power of the fist. Give or take a gun. Or a Devgn.

Devgn playing the one-man army invests the clichéd role with a kind of cultural specificity which allows him the leeway to get verbally regional without losing a pan-India flavour. That’s the magic of mass entertainment cinema that this film celebrates with panoramic verve.

We don’t need to comprehend Marathi to get the powerful subtexts of Devgan’s virulent attack on corruption. Fortunately Devgn isn’t the kind of actor who needs to scream to make himself heard. He effectually offsets Prakash Raj’s theatrical villainy bordering on bigtime hamming.

It is significant that the entire cast comprises Marathi actors, giving to the frenetic rustic proceedings a sense of arrogant chauvinism. Only the villain palayed by Prakash Raj is a South Indian actor of tremendous histrionic range. Give him anything to do. And he does with impassioned concentration.

A lot of the lines that the politician-villain is compelled to utter bordered on self-parody. Chunks of the action and drama are cannibalized from the Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘angry’ series , without the bridled indignance of the central character.

Yes, Singham is frustrated and embittered by the corruption that’s crept into the socio-political system. But he lacks the vitality to transmute the cop’s impotent rage into a potent cinematic language. e don’t feel for his concern for a clean social order. We just wonder whom he will thrash next, and how.

Partly, it is to do with the kind of shallowness that Singham’s love interest portrays. Jaya Bhaduri in Zanjeer and Smita Patil in Ardh Satya made a brief but telling impact on the way the enraged hero looked at the seedy world. Newcomer Kajal Aggarwal is a bundle of shallow take-away expressions, the cinematic equivalent of a home-delivered pizza, without the spicy toppings.

What sustains the narrative’s velocity is Devgn’s uncalculated moves as an action hero. He brings a kind of reckless inevitability into every blow that he delivers on the goons. There are some entertaining supporting performances, Sachin Khedeker as the heroin’e cellphone-fixated father is a hoot.

In all fairness the action sequences (Jai Singh Nijjar) are entertaining and humorous. The fights don’t take themselves seriously.

However the homilies on a need for integrity in the civil services seem like unwanted concessions to self-importance in a film that seems to revel in a kind of free-floating message on how to stay clean in a cesspool of corruption. Yup, Rohit Shetty packs in a punch.

You can’t but smile at the infinite pleasure which the director partakes from the age-old language of commercial Hindi cinema in all its flamboyant glory.

Singham is a cops film with balls.

Sonakshi to Priyanka, no hottie wants to work with Kamal Haasan!

Sonakshi to Priyanka, no hottie wants to work with Kamal Haasan! From Sonakshi to Vidya, Priyanka to Deepika... no one seems to want to be a part of the south superstar's film

When it comes to working with two of south India's biggest superstars, Kamal Haasan and Rajnikanth, you'd assume there's no thinking twice.

But looks like Kamal's hunt for a heroine for his latest film Vishwaroopam may have hit a major roadblock. Despite approaching some of Bollywood's A-list actresses, he hasn't been able to rope in a Bollywood leading lady for his dream project.

First he signed on the Dabangg beauty Sonakshi Sinha, who later opted out citing date issues. Her fluctuating weight added insult to injury considering this is an out and out spy-thriller that requires the heroine to be fighting fit.

And though sources say that Sonakshi may still be in two-minds about accommodating the film in her schedule, Kamal is not taking any chances.

The filmmaker has apparently approached both Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra for the role considering action has been a genre both the actors have experimented with in the past with Chandni Chowk to China and Don respectively.

"Kamal is very keen on shooting the first schedule of the film in August itself and that is precisely what's creating all the problems.

Priyanka and Deepika both have their diaries packed for now, and to take out time for Vishwaroopam would be quite difficult.

But yet we are hoping something should work out, " says a source from Kamal's office. He adds, "Kamal's very first choice after Sonakshi Sinha was Vidya Balan.

But with Dirty Picture and Kahani, the actress could not commit to the project despite wanting to be a part of it."

So talk is that if none of them get on board soon, the south star will have to resort to casting a fresh face.

Kamal versus Rajni?

It may be a sheer coincidence, but both the superstars seem to be facing problems with their upcoming projects. Rajnikanth faced a similar issue with his film Rana where everyone from Vidya Balan to Madhuri Dixit to Rekha opted out of the film.

Interestingly, the reason Kamal is so keen on wrapping up the shoot for Vishwaroopam is also because he is aiming to release it alongside Rana.

Vishwaroopam's endless roadblocks

For some reason, the film has been facing trouble ever since its inception. First, popular south director Selva Raghavan walked out of the project because of creative differences with Kamal. And now, the never-ending search for a leading lady.

Post Dasavatharam, which tanked at the box-office, Vishwaroopam is Kamal's biggest and most ambitious project, but as of now it's turning into a one-man army.

Kamal is acting, writing and directing the film, and is now just back from a location recce. The film that is expected to showcase special effects similar to that of Mission Impossible 2 will be shot in Uzbekistan, UK and other parts of Europe.

Vidya and Emraan get super-intimate with a smooch festThe actors are getting ready to shoot super-intimate sequences for 'Dirty Picture'

What happens when the official 'serial kisser' of B-Town and an actress popular for her oomph factor ever since she entered the industry get together?

Yes, Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan, who star together in Milan Luthria's Dirty Picture, are gearing up to set the screen on fire.

According to sources, Vidya will soon enter the long list of heroines Emraan has lip-locked on screen. Apparently, they would not only have a couple of sizzling scenes in the movie, but also an exceedingly intimate and romantic number together.

Getting comfortable

However, since this is the first time the two actors have been cast opposite each other, their director, Milan, is trying to do all he can to eliminate any edginess.

It has been learnt that he is first shooting the 'easier' scenes so that they become friendly and comfortable and then film the high-voltage ones.

"Their chemistry needs to be very natural. So Milan decided to schedule the 'sexy' portions for later, " says our informer.

Apparently, Emraan, who plays a filmmaker in DP, gets attracted to Vidya, who's portraying a character based on southside sex siren, Silk Smitha.

"She has never played such a character before. So she's working hard to make sure that not the slightest awkwardness comes across on screen, " says a source associated with the film.

Since they started shooting, the two actors have cultivated a friendly rapport. It seems Emraan is often cracking jokes in-between shots and Vidya loves his quirky sense of humour.

"In the romantic song that will be shot at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad, they will be required to lock lips to bring out the love and intimacy their characters share, " reveals our source, adding that the other kiss features in a scene they will be shooting after the song.

Director Milan Luthria was unavailable for comment.

Murder 2: Model-actor Pinki Gaur to sue Bhatts

Murder 2: Model-actor Pinki Gaur to sue BhattsFor using her photos indiscriminately in 'Murder 2'

Considering that Bhatt productions are always courting controversy, one can understand their latest venture being caught in the eye of a storm.

Though it does come as a surprise that Murder 2 has got into trouble 10 days since its release. Model-actor Pinki Gaur is all set to send a legal notice to Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt's production house, Vishesh Films, for using her photograph without her prior consent.

Pinki, who has featured in shows like Dil Dosti Dance, Karam Apna Apna recalls being informed about her photograph being used in Murder 2.

"There's a scene, where an agent is talking about supplying prostitutes and showing pictures of a number of girls. One of the snaps he shows is mine, and he says that she's gone out on work, " says Pinki, adding that she was astonished as she had never given any of her photographs to Vishesh Films.

However, through a friend who works with Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt's company, she learnt that they had obtained permission from a model coordinator who had given them her photographs.

Pinki avers that there should have been an agreement with her. "How can they use my photograph in their movie just like that?" she wonders, maintaining that, "There was no contract, nothing at all. Just using my photograph for a scene like that is not acceptable to me."

She further says that while it may not matter to the producers, her snap featuring in a scene where a character is showing photographs of prostitutes could affect her career.

Pinki concedes that her friend suggested she send the notice to Vishesh Films, which she's doing today. "If they don't reply, then I can file an FIR against them for using my photograph like this, " asserts the model-actor.

Possible goof-up

While Mahesh Bhatt says, "If you've seen the film, you'll understand that it's not our intention to malign, demean or tarnish the image of the people whose photographs feature along with that of Yana Gupta, on whom the scene zeroes on."

He conceded that a trainee in charge of putting the props for the particular scene might have goofed up. "Instead of getting the images cleared by the department seniors, the trainee bungled up, maybe out of sheer oversight or lethargy, " he admitted.

Bhatt further reasoned that going the legal way could in turn be a cause of hardship for the girl concerned, so he'd rather resolve the issue arbitrarily.

"If the lady wants a graceful apology from Vishesh Films, I've no problems with that, " he stated, adding that nothing would come out from her going to court. "Because our courts are already burned with far more important cases. So it's best to resolve it arbitrarily."
