Alvin and the chipmunks 3 Movie Trailer
One of the important issue that the producers of Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D, should think of is that how to employ the 3D in their movie. Following the example paved by Up and keeping the effects as subtle is the sensible way to employ 3D in this movie for better experience. Objects popping out the screen with high pitch sound will no doubted, scare the children in the audience whose parents also will be disturbed by the activities of their child and could not follow the movie. The producers should also cautious in filming the title as either ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 or Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D’. The best one that the produce can chose for the title is ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks 3: 3D’ easily understood by the audience

From the misty pages of history comes a story of extreme valour, fierce pride and poignant love.
As the British enslave India with their devious Divide and Rule policy, kings and nawabs fall to their guile and cunning, and entrust their precious kingdom to the foreigners.
Except for the brave Pindaris, who prefer death to dishonour and will fight to their last breath to save their land…..their mother. The bravest, the toughest, the strongest of the Pindaris is Veer. As Veer takes on the might of the British Empire, he also has to fight the conniving King of Madavgarh as well his own jealous tribesmen.
But then the stakes are high…..
At stake is his love for princess Yashodhara, daughter of his sworn enemy…
At stake is his thirst to avenge his father’s dishonour…..
At stake is his very existence itself…..
Cannons roar, swords clash in fierce battle, the dead pile up…..And when the dust settles down on the blood soaked land…one valiant warrior stands head and shoulders above them all – Veer!
Veer – an epic saga of bravery and drama, treachery and love…..
Tum Mile-Review
By: Sumesh Vasishth
Cast: Soha Ali Khan, Emraan Haashmi, Mantra
Music Directors: Pritam Chakraborty
Director: Kunal Deshmukh
SantaBanta Rating: **
Show me a hero and I will write you a tragedy. But alas, the tragedy in Tum Mile is not about horrendous Mumbai floods that lashed the city on 26th July, 2005 but the film itself.
It has everything; a quirky artist as protagonist, a control freak but adorable leading lady, their unlikely love story and their sad separation. But in case you are expecting heroics of Jack and Rose ala Titanic in Mumbai floods, you are in for a big disappointment.
The two ex-lovers Akshay (Emraan Hashmi) and Sanjana (Soha Ali Khan) bump into each other aboard a Mumbai-bound flight on 26/7. Apparently, Akki is uncomfortable in her presence and their aircraft’s turbulence pushes him into the flashbacks of his own stormy relationship with Sanjana in Cape Town. Those were the days! She was a budding professional but with an ‘environment friendly’ green heart. He was a people’s artist doubling up as a delivery boy whose beard defied every logic. Once on their 40 Km journey back home, it changed styles thrice in her plush car itself.
Sanjana recognised his talent and charm and the two moved in together. They had their good times but things went downhill when his lack of financial wisdom started affecting the artist in him.
The duo bade good bye to each other to pursue their own careers and after six long years the destiny has brought them together again to face another storm.
Gusty winds, high tides are ripping Mumbai, at last you expect to see the much publicised 26/7 floods on screen but unlike in real life the action lasts only 10 minutes, though enough time for the couple to cast away their grudges.
Still, you don’t lose hope. Like all Bhatt films you eagerly look forward to the regular shock element and the director Kunal Deshmukh gives us one. Given a lack of shocker in the scipt, he electrocutes Emraan's poor friend Vick (Mantra) to complete the ritual. How about that for a shock? There is a clear disconnect between the lives of leading characters and unfortunate disaster that took place in Mumbai. The colossal mishap should have been given much more prominence, instead of using it as an instrument to take the narrative forward.
Soha Ali Khan clearly takes the cake away from Emraan as a restrained girl. Hashmi on the other hand is very predictable and takes home nothing more than two kisses from Soha. Songs are okay but too many.
Unprecedented rains and floods claimed over a thousand lives when Mumbai experienced 944 mm of rainfall on that ominous day. The financial loss is pegged at Rs 450 crore, just add Tum Mile to it as well.
Jail movie reviews
Music
Cinematography: Kalpesh Bhandarkar
Editing: Devendra Murdeshwar
Dialogue: Raghuvir Shekawat
Screenplay: Madhur Bhandarkar, Manoj Tyagi, Anuradha Tiwari
Direction: Madhur Bhandarkar
Producer: Madhur Bhandarkar
Release date: 6 November 2009
Story
Parag Dixit (Neil Nitin Mukesh) is a savvy executive from a top firm. He has a sexy girl friend (Mughda Godse), swanky car and suave life style. He falls in to the plot laid by his friends and lands up in jail on the allegations of possessing heavy amount of narcotics. He will be sent to judicial custody and is kept at a jail. He hopes of getting bail because his girlfriend goes all out to make sure that he is out of jail by hiring a top lawyer. The rest of the story is all about the bitter experiences in jail and how he come in terms with it.
Actors:
Neil Nitin Mukesh looks vulnerable in the movie and he suited the role of a man who becomes a victim in unforeseen circumstances. Manoj Bajpayee who is know for eccentric antics did a role that has needs of underplaying. And he is good. Mughda Godse is neat. Arya Babbar is excellent in the role of Kabir. Kaveri Jha is adequate. Atul Kulakarni is impressive in the role of a lawyer.
Technical departments:
Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the movie is treated in biographical manner with hero not trying to do anything heroic. There is one loophole in the movie which marred the entire viewing experience. When hero is taken into the custody, he was not holding any revolver and he was not running away from the cops like his friend did. And neither hero nor his girlfriend tried to clarify it through the lawyer. The audience know about it and they still have to sit through the entire movie till Atul Kulkarni explains the same in the final hearing. There is a difference between being innocent and being dumb. The character of hero is treated more like a dumb character than an innocent character. Hence the characterizations are weak. There are couple of things I liked in the movie like how lawyers mercilessly extract money from the clients and the one moment where hero refuses to runaway when he gets a chance. Direction of the film is adequate, but screenplay is not interesting. There seem to be a few references from POW jail break films from Hollywood.
Other technical departments: A film like this doesn't require any songs. Hence all the songs appear irrelevant. Dialogues are realistic. Cinematography is nice. Art direction is good and a jail set it erected for this movie in Ramoji Film City.
Analysis: Jail movie is a slow-paced one with boring moments most of the time. It is neither a commercial subject, nor an artistic film. However, the last 15 minutes of the movie is better. There are two types of Jail films. One is of commercial type where Jail break happens. This kind of film provides thrill. The other one the type where they show the journey and experiences of jail inmates. There will be lot of heart-touching content and these kind of films have human triumph towards the climax. Only film that managed both thrill and human triumph is 'The Shawshank Redemption'. Madhur Bhandarkar's JAIL does neither give you thrill not touches your heart. A slight disappointment from Madhur Bhandarkar.CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA
Nikhil Advani pays homage to Ramesh Sippy's movies by merging SHOLAY and SEETA AUR GEETA. But this concoction called CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA is as bland as khichdi.
Come to think of it, Nikhil Advani had everything going for him. It's a dream project, what with heavyweights such as Warner Bros., Ramesh Sippy, Akhay Kumar and Gordon Liu agreeing to be a part of this mammoth project. But Nikhil slips and trips, falling flat on his face.
A masala film is always welcome. In fact, two desi films [RAB NE BANA DI JODI and GHAJINI] have been lapped up by the junta in a big way, but CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA is an unbearable masala fare that insults the intelligence of the moviegoer.
So, what's the verdict then? Enjoy Chinese food instead. This one's a big, big, big letdown!
Sidhu [Akshay Kumar] cuts vegetables at a roadside food stall in Chandni Chowk in Delhi. He longs to escape his dreary existence and looks for shortcuts -- with astrologers, tarot readers and fake fakirs -- believing anything except himself, despite his father figure Dada's [Mithun Chakraborty] best efforts.
The story takes a turn when two strangers from China claim he's a reincarnation of a war hero and take him to China. Thanks to the devious translator, a conman by the name Chopstick [Ranvir Shorey], little does he know that he is being taken to the Chinese village of vicious smuggler Hojo [Gordon Liu].
Therefore, Sidhu blissfully sets forth to China with Chopstick, who instigates dreams of a delicious future and forgets to reveal the perils, which await him. Along the way, he meets Sakhi [Deepika Padukone], who has embarked on a journey to pay homage to the land of her birth and her dead father and twin.
Hojo catches up with Sidhu and eliminates Dada right in front of everyone. Sidhu seeks revenge and finds the one man who will make him a Kungfu expert and set the village free from Hojo's tyranny.
On face-value, what do you expect from CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA? Laughter unlimited, great martial arts, a glimpse of China. But what's served on the platter is so insipid, so lame, so senseless that you wonder if there was a script in the first place. The comic scenes [that make you laugh] are few and far between. The scenes depicting martial arts are hardly exciting. Also, barring the Great Wall of China, don't expect China darshan here!
There are big holes in the script. Sample these... * How and why do the two oppressed Chinese men suddenly land up in Chandni Chowk in Delhi? Also, how do they zero on Ranvir Shorey? No explanations offered. * Deepika's track of visiting China is trite. Wasn't the twin-sister, an infant, thrown off the Great Wall of China? How did Gordon Liu suddenly decide to bring her up? * Similarly, Deepika's father was also pushed from the Great Wall, but he survives. Akshay too is beaten black and blue and thrown off [coincidentally, from the same place -- Great Wall], but is rescued mid-air by Deepika's father. Miracles never cease to occur, must add.
Post interval, Akshay undergoes a gruelling training session, but not once does the preparation give an impression that Akshay is seething with anger and vengeance. That's because the director has injected humour in these scenes and that takes away the seriousness from the plot. The climax is equally contrived and hence, makes no impact whatsoever.
Although the year 2009 has just begun, this film is sure to be a strong contender in Razzies in two departments mainly -- direction and writing. Nikhil Advani goes horribly wrong this time. As for the writers, well, they ought to take a crash course in film writing pronto. The songs are okay, with the title track and 'Naam Hai Sidhu' being the pick of the lot. The stunts [Dee Dee Ku] are plain mediocre. Even the dated martial arts' movies produced in the East offered better stuff. Himman Dhamija's cinematography lacks the picture perfect look.
Akshay Kumar is the sole saving grace, but the director hasn't tapped his potential to the fullest. Deepika Padukone is passable. Gordon Liu is decent. Ranvir Shorey is functional. Mithun Chakraborty is bland. Roger Yuan, Deepika's father in the film, is fair.
On the whole, CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA is a brilliant opportunity gone appallingly wrong. The film falls way below expectations and is a major disappointment in all respects. At the box-office, the hype might translate into a bountiful weekend, that's it. Thumbs down!
Delhi 6- Music By A.R. Rahman
A.R. Rahman is in a peculiar state today. Whatever he churns out, especially when a film is as big as Delhi 6, is expected to be huge now, especially after a powerful trail that he has left behind in 2008. Add to that a rocking beginning to the year with Slumdog Millionaire and it has to be a very bad frame of mind for Rahman to churn anything less superior. No wonder, Delhi 6 comes with expectations of the highest order, especially with names like Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, UTV, Prasoon Joshi, Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor attached to it.
MUSIC
Why such excitement about the soundtrack of Delhi 6? Well, one hearing of 'Masakali' and you know that this would be a song remembered for months to come. An instant chartbuster from the word 'Go', it has a characteristic Rahman flavor to it and sounds a unique and extremely fresh piece of music. The orchestra is kept at bare minimum and still makes a huge impact in bringing on a recollection value.
Reminding of 'Pia Haji Ali' and 'Khwaja Mere Khwaja', 'Arziyan', as required by the genre, has tabla and harmonium taking it through its 9 minute long duration. The impact of this devotional track with a haunting sound is such that after a couple of minutes, a listener completely surrenders by loosing himself in the ambience created by it.
For about 50 seconds, 'Genda Phool' appears to be all rustic and rooted but soon Western arrangements come into picture hence making it a cool fusion number that continues to get on variety for the soundtrack of Delhi 6. Composer Rajat Dholakia comes into picture for this unique number which leaves one wondering that in which situation it would be used. Surprise comes in the form of classical 'Bhor Bhaye' which is based on raaga Gujri Todi followed by an aarti 'Tumre Bhavan Mein', both of which promise to add on to the narrative of Delhi 6 in the background. Essence of love is all over again, though for a mere 50 seconds, as Amitabh Bachchan runs his commentary on 'Noor' that concludes the album.
LYRICS
Prasoon Joshi certainly likes to write something that has never been heard before. When he plays it all around to mix and match with words that could either be totally poetic or straight out of day to day conversations, songs like 'Masakali' are made. He gets devotional with 'Arziyan' and 'Aarti (Tumre Bhavan Mein)' with the classical 'Bhor Bhaye' and folk based 'Genda Phool' showing an altogether different facet of his writing.
Prasoon returns with the love songs 'Rehna Tu' and 'Dil Gira Dafatan' and gives Rahman quite a lot to experiment around. On the other hand, he would have certainly given Rahman a tough time to compose lyrics that go as 'Hey Kaala Bandar'.
VOCALS
Mohit Chauhan gets to sing on a completely different pitch, something that he hasn't been known for much after a slew of mushy romantic numbers that he has sung so far. He is terrific with 'Masakali' that would add on to his ever increasing repertoire. Javed Ali opens 'Arziyan' and Kailash Kher joins him later to create a mesmerizing impact that makes the number a heartfelt experience.
Blaaze, Benny, Viviane, Tanvi and Claire would have certainly had fun while coming together for Delhi 6 which is the first 'cool' number to make an appearance in the soundtrack. Another teamwork is seen in 'Hey Kaala Bandar' where Karthik, Naresh, Srinivas and Bony Chakravorty come together to make it an all-boys outing. Certainly, this makes for an enjoyable journey! However, ladies are not to be left behind, as apparent with 'Genda Phool' that sees Rekha Bharadwaj, Shrradha Pandit, Sujata Majumdar and V.N. Mahathi joining in and also 'Tumre Bhavan Mein' that features the trio of Rekha, Shrradha and Sujata Majumdar with Kishori Ashok Gowariker.
Rahman goes selfish with 'Rehna Tu' as he saves the best track of the album for himself and comes behind the mike for it. Just hear it to believe it as he is just so perfect in his rendition and makes you play on the number repeatedly. However, Ash King, a male singer who hasn't been heard on the Bollywood scene so far, gives Rahman tough competition as a singer with the number 'Dil Gira Dafatan'. He makes an excellent debut with Chinmayee doing well as a backup vocalist.
OVERALL
Delhi 6 is near perfect. Period. If one thought that Slumdog Millionaire, Ghajini and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa were superb then just listen to Delhi 6 once. Rahman beats his own score with Delhi 6 which would easily go down as one of his best scores till date. Simply said, even though the year has just begun with some exemplary soundtracks like Dev D, Slumdog Millionaire and Luck By Chance already making a very good impression, Delhi 6 would qualify as a comfortable nomination amongst the Top albums of the year. And to thing of it, 2009 still has more than 11 months to go!

Plot:
Meet Jai Singh Rathore ('Rats'), the most non-violent Rajput either side of the Aravallis. And meet, if you dare, the violent and passionate Aditi Mahant ('Meow'). Whatever you do, do not pick a fight with her. She scratches and abuses. If you do get into a scrap, take cover till Jai arrives, as he alone can calm our snarling wildcat. Never was there a less likely couple. Jai thinks Aditi’s parents should have rinsed her mouth with soap when she was a child. Aditi thinks that Jai is the biggest coward she has ever encountered. Heaven, it seems, has mixed up its apples and oranges. More nuts in this fruitcake scenario: Rotlu weeps secretly for Aditi. Bombs’ heart explodes for Jai. Jiggy applies golden mascara to his hair. Shaleen… well, she’s probably the only one who doesn’t seem a few notes short of a concerto.
So, to come back to our story: Jai and Aditi are perfect for each other (in some odd, distorted way, impossible to understand). Friends know this. Parents know this. Everybody knows this. But do Rats and Meow know? Can two people ever, truly, know the secrets of their hearts? And how do you know it’s the real thing? When do you know it’s love?
Add to this quandary a quarrelling portrait, strange dreams of a desert warrior, a dope-head brother and his pet mouse, two Rajput ‘cowboys’, three ancestral conditions, a fateful night in jail, a climactic ride to the airport… … and there, you have it! Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. The coolest, warmest, hippest, funniest musical-romantic-comedy of the year.

Box Office:
Light college drama Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na won the hearts of audiences on the day of its release and Aamir Khan, whose nephew Imran Khan debuted in the film, says it got an opening only a superstar's movie would get."'Jaane Tu...' got a response as strong as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (Aamir's debut film). It got an opening which only Shah Rukh Khan or Hrithik's films get," Aamir, who is also a co-producer of the film, said at a press conference here late Friday.
Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na took a flying start at the box office. Taran Adarsh states, "Box-office throws a lot of surprises and that's the beauty of this business. The verdict is out in the open. JAANE TU… YA JAANE NA has clearly stolen the march, as per initial indications. The film fetched a flying start, collecting 80% + in morning shows and was 100% in noon shows across the country. It's one of the biggest starts of this year. The reports are very good and the film is expected to enjoy a strong, meritorious run in days to come."[3] BoxOffice India states, "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na opened strongly at 80%+. The film will rake in big money through the multiplexes in big cities as the costs are reasonable. A winner all the way."
Joginder Tuteja, of Bollywood Trade News Network reports, "The unthinkable has happened.Till about a year back, there was no news around the progress of JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA which had begun close to two years back. The film was stuck and while Aamir Khan got busy with his TAARE ZAMEEN PAR, the Imran Khan starrer was put on a backburner.Somewhere down the line news started pouring in that JTYJN was being revived but except for the fact that the film had two heavy weights backing it up - Aamir Khan and A.R. Rahman - there didn't seem to be much curiosity about the film. This is when these very trump cards came into motion. First came the music of the film which became an overnight craze with 'Aditi' and 'Pappu' becoming chartbusters. Later, Aamir took complete charge of the film and the results were there to be seen. So strong was the buzz created by Aamir's planned publicity overdrive that it was JTYJN all over. The fabulous promos coupled with intense media campaign did it for this sweet love story which caught on so much hype by the time of its Friday release that it was irresistible for the urban audience not to give it a watch. Result? The film took a fabulous response on Friday and as this piece is being written, the word is already out all over that the film is a sure shot success in the making. While the opening shows saw 70-80% range occupancy, the evening saw cent percent footfalls at the farthest of multiplexes which means that JTYJN has been accepted all over. Saturday and Sunday are only better while chances are great that the film would have a stable running into the weekdays as well. With coming Friday not really throwing a challenge due to Mehbooba, Good Luck and Mukhbiir catering to an altogether different segment of audience, the makers of JTYJN have hit gold. Imran Khan begins his Bollywood journey with a guaranteed HIT under his belt while Genelia D'Souza too makes a real good comeback after a forgettable Mere Baap Pehle Aap! It's time for Bollywood to uncork the champagne!"

Music:
The music of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was released in India on May 20, 2008 with Aamir Khan presenting the first audio CD to Shammi Kapoor.[5] Bollyspice gave a rating of 4.5 out of 5, stating, "All in all, the Imran Khan and Genelia starer Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na has been one of the most anticipated soundtracks of the year and it definitely lives up to its expectations in every respect. It is refreshing, the lyrics are brilliant and some of the most beautiful voices have been chosen to accompany it. Once again, A. R. Rahman proves that he was, is and will forever remain a musical genius that delivers a knockout album each and every time!" The album by the maestro is a complete chartbuster as shown by the effects of "Kabhi Kabhi" and "Pappu Can't Dance" hysteria.
Chocolate review
Shafi strikes again! After ‘Mayavi’, he, aided by newbie scriptwriters Sachi and Sethu, has come up with a film that has a unique concept. Mostly, it is the hilarious situations and dialogues that keep the film going.Prithviraj plays Shyam a college student, who is forever making trouble for his mother, a women’s college lecture. She admitted him in different colleges, but he would pick fight and gets expelled. And at last she decides to bring him to her own college; though a women’s college, there is a rule that one boy can be allowed in women’s college. Thus Shyam gets admitted, much to the dismay of the threesome gang consisting of Ann Mathews (Roma), Nandana (Samvrutha Sunil) and Susan (Remya Nambeesan). They saw Shyam as their No.1 enemy because all the attention that they received till then went to Shyam after his arrival. So they did stuffs to make life difficult for Shyam in college. Shyam, not the kind who will step-down, retaliates. In the process Ann and Shyam become good friends and later fall in love. But situations develops in such a way that they had other problems to deal with as well, which unfold in the second half.Prithviraj shines as the hero. The film must be a huge relief for the actor, who couldn’t find any success after ‘Classmates’, which released on Onam, last year. Interestingly, though having different content, both the films tell campus story. There were some overt dialogues for Roma, but among the current crop of actress, only she could have played Ann Mathews.Jayasurya plays Renjith, a fashion designer, who didn’t dare to convey his feeling directly to Nandana, instead befriends Shyam and often meet her on the pretext that he wants her to model for a fashion show. Salimkumar was at his best playing Pappan, an internet café owner and friend of Shyam. He, with his one-liners, boosts the film’s mood. Jayasurya also had some witty dialogues.Costumes of the film will be rage among the youth. But music of the film was disappointing; the hit combination of Alex Paul and Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma couldn’t deliver this time. What more, one song and background music was uncannily similar to a popular song from their previous big hit ‘Classmates’.Overall, the film is a good entertainer and surely students will be flocking the theatersParadesi
A power-packed performance by Mohanlal, who simply chewed-up the screen space, and some good music, are the highlights of this rather subdued film. After watching the film, it is only Mohanlal’s face as the 80 year old man that will linger in our minds, and not the predicament of scores of Muslims who are labeled as Pakistani spies and deported from their own land. Mohanlal plays three different life stages, one as the young Moosa, then as the 60 year old man, but mostly as the very old Velyakathu Moosa, around whom the story develops and ends.Paradesi is the story about the state of many Muslims, who before independence, were working in places which became Pakistan after partition, thus gets stranded in the ‘foreign’ land. When they took a Pakistani passport, they didn’t know that they will be branded as ‘paradesi’s’ for the rest of their lives. Velyakathu Moosa (Mohanlal) is one such ‘paradesi’ who was allowed to live in India on a one-to-one year visa, during which he has to report in the police station every month. His wife Ameena (Shwetha Menon) is the only one backing him, as his sons hated him because everywhere they are labeled as sons of a Pakistani spy.Moosa had to give bribes to police to leave him in peace and also had to pay hefty sum to the lawyer. He still he helps out those like him. Those unfortunates who get deported to Pakistan gets worse treatment there, the Pakistani police mark them as Indian spies and beat them up.Usha (Padmapriya), a free lance journalist, decides to write a story about the plight of these unfortunates. She, with the help of Moosa gathers information about many who were, or are in the verge of getting thrown out of their own homeland. He tells her how Khadeeja (Lakshmi Gopalasamy), his relative and whom he really cared for, got deported to Pakistan, where she committed suicide. The police bugged by Usha’s investigation and the support that Moosa gave her, was looking for a chance to get back on Moosa. The opportunity did come…P.T Kunhi Mohammed, who decided to make the film minus much emotional upheaval, unfortunately didn’t succeed in connecting with the audience, except perhaps towards the climax.Apart from Mohanlal and Jagathy, others like Siddique and Shwetha Menon, who played the old characters, were littile patchy and went little overboard with their acting. Makeup man Pattanam Rasheed has done a great job, he along with Mohanlal, is sure to bag some awards. Music of the film was mesmerizing.
