Veteran singer Nitin Mukesh who turned 60 on Sunday got his life's most cherished gift from son Neil Nitin Mukesh
A Mercedes from the new CGI series.
The Mercedes is a car that the senior Mukesh wanted to own almost all his life. Says Neil excitedly, “You had to see his expression when I took him by the hand blindfolded to the garage where the car was parked and showed his dream car. He jumped up and down and sequealed like a child.
He then ran to his best friend's apartment and got him down to see the car. The two of them were like a couple of excited school kids on their first outing to Disneyland. It was full paisa –vasool for me.”
For Neil this was the proudest moment of his career as an actor so far. “If I'm earning a certain amount of money my biggest wish is to make my my family happy with what money can buy. I planned the Merc for dad for a year for his 60th birthday.”
For Nitin Mukesh the Mercedes still remains the ultimate luxury car. Chuckles Neil, “When I bought myself the Audi Q7 last year Dad was like… 'Ok, but the Merc's the car for me.' I then decided what his gift would be on the 60th birthday.”
On Sunday the entire family drove in the golden Mercedes to Amby Valley to celebrate Papa Nitin Mukesh birthday.
“We're all here, my parents, my sister, brother-in-law and my two extremely naughty nephews and my younger brother. Yesterday for Dad's birthday we took a boat into the middle of the lake and stayed in the waters the whole day, singing my grandfather (Mukesh)'s songs. There's nothing I enjoy more than being with my family.”
Neil says he doesn't miss a love life. “Between my family and my work there's no room at the moment for love. It isn't as if I'm not going out with girls. But nothing serious. No strings attached. Except the ones in the clothes that they wear.”

The actor has booked a flat for himself at an upmarket building in Worli. The building is expected to be the tallest residential building in the country.
A flat here costs between Rs 7.5 crore and Rs 50 crore. Neil will get possession of his flat only after five years, but that has not stopped the actor from taking this step.
Neil's next film, Lafange Parindey, directed by Pradeep Sarkar and co-starring Deepika Padukone, will release on August 20.
