Shafi strikes again! After ‘Mayavi’, he, aided by newbie scriptwriters Sachi and Sethu, has come up with a film that has a unique concept. Mostly, it is the hilarious situations and dialogues that keep the film going.Prithviraj plays Shyam a college student, who is forever making trouble for his mother, a women’s college lecture. She admitted him in different colleges, but he would pick fight and gets expelled. And at last she decides to bring him to her own college; though a women’s college, there is a rule that one boy can be allowed in women’s college.Thus Shyam gets admitted, much to the dismay of the threesome gang consisting of Ann Mathews (Roma), Nandana (Samvrutha Sunil) and Susan (Remya Nambeesan). They saw Shyam as their No.1 enemy because all the attention that they received till then went to Shyam after his arrival. So they did stuffs to make life difficult for Shyam in college. Shyam, not the kind who will step-down, retaliates. In the process Ann and Shyam become good friends and later fall in love. But situations develops in such a way that they had other problems to deal with as well, which unfold in the second half.Prithviraj shines as the hero. The film must be a huge relief for the actor, who couldn’t find any success after ‘Classmates’, which released on Onam, last year. Interestingly, though having different content, both the films tell campus story. There were some overt dialogues for Roma, but among the current crop of actress, only she could have played Ann Mathews.Jayasurya plays Renjith, a fashion designer, who didn’t dare to convey his feeling directly to Nandana, instead befriends Shyam and often meet her on the pretext that he wants her to model for a fashion show. Salimkumar was at his best playing Pappan, an internet café owner and friend of Shyam. He, with his one-liners, boosts the film’s mood. Jayasurya also had some witty dialogues.Costumes of the film will be rage among the youth. But music of the film was disappointing; the hit combination of Alex Paul and Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma couldn’t deliver this time. What more, one song and background music was uncannily similar to a popular song from their previous big hit ‘Classmates’.Overall, the film is a good entertainer and surely students will be flocking the theaters
